Creating Your Own World

We just got back a few weeks ago from Disney World. Typically I am excited to see the looks on my kids face and enjoy the experience through their eyes. On this trip I think I was the most excited! Although my daughter and son really like Star Wars I have been a Star Wars geek my whole life. As you might have already guessed we went to Star Wars land and spent all the day there. I felt like that 5 year old seeing that galaxy a long time ago and far far away. Although selfishly I enjoyed this dream come true I also loved taking my first ride in the Millennium Falcon with my 11 year old daughter. She was a gunner and I was an engineer.

So a little back story. Since I was 5, watching Star Wars in theaters, I have enjoyed all the good and the bad that Star Wars has to offer; from the greatness of Empire Strikes Back, to the low point of the clone wars movie and not to mention the most “loved” Jar Jar Binks. Thank God for Dave and Jon resurrecting the brand with The Mandalorian, which leads right into my favorite Star Wars Character with his own series, Boba Fett! As a kid and young adult I have enjoyed the story telling and the world of Star Wars. I don’t know how my life would have developed without Star Wars. That and Lord of the Rings helped me develop my love of fantasy and science fiction. It’s a great escape and also shows that the world is in shades of grey and not black and white.

Now I know some of you out there are not Star Wars fans or care about anything I am talking about, but everyone out there has something they love that was created by another individual. The inspiration you get when reading or watching that thing you love, keeps you going, and inspires us all to do great things! With that being said, I began to think about how amazing everything was in Star Wars Land that was basically imagined by a few individuals. When it comes right down to it Star Wars Land would not exist without the imaginations of a simple animator and a director both with huge visions.

Then it struck me that everything around us would never have existed, if it wasn’t for a man who wanted to see a cartoon mouse move, hadn’t created a world unmatched. Then a humble, post film student, from California brought the vision from his mind to form a complexly new world, and breathed life into his vision and made it a reality. Walt Disney and George Lucas brought forth worlds that only existed in their minds, but they both brought people into that vision. Now we have something that a 5 year old boy, born in the 70’s, and encouraged him that ANY DREAM IS POSSIBLE!

I also wanted to share this revelation with my daughter because she is an aspiring animator. I told her that everything around her was made possible from a person that loved art and wanted to see it animated and moving. She is on a great path and in great company in perusing her passions. Her face lights up and she is more committed that ever to become an animator and bring her dreams to life.

I became more committed to bringing my vision of a better world and financial system to the world.

I would also challenge you to look inside again for your dreams and take action to make them happen!
